Biennale Cinema 2026

Venice Film Biennale

From September 2 to 12, 2026, the Venice Lido will host the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, organized by the Venice Biennale and directed by Alberto Barbera.
Officially recognized by the FIAPF, the Festival confirms Venice as the world capital of cinema, attracting directors, actors, and enthusiasts from around the world.

International Cinema between Art and Industry

The Biennale Cinema is not just a festival, but a global platform that promotes cinema in all its forms: from auteur works to major commercial productions, including short films and artistic experimentation.
The goal is to create an open dialogue between tradition and innovation, offering audiences an immersive experience that celebrates the seventh art in all its facets.

Homage to the classics

Special attention is given to the restoration of historical films.
This section allows us to rediscover key works of world cinema and enhances cultural memory, ensuring that the great stories and cinematic techniques of the past continue to inspire new generations.

Unmissable events, previews, and appointments

The Venice Lido will transform into an international stage with screenings, world premieres, meetings with directors and actors, conferences, and cultural initiatives.
Ten days of cinema, innovation, and culture make the Biennale an unmissable event for lovers of the big screen, strengthening the bond between Venice and the seventh art.
