The local markets of Cavallino Treporti
Local products, fruit, fish and much more
One of the strengths of the Veneto region and Cavallino Treporti are its local produce, beloved by locals and sought after by tourists from all over Europe who choose to stay at Camping Village Miramare.
Between Cavallino, Ca’ Savio, and Treporti, there are several local markets every week, where you can find fruit, vegetables, freshly caught fish, fabrics, clothing, and gifts.
Strolling among the stalls is definitely an experience not to be missed if you want to discover authentic products and feel part of the local area, listening to the vendors’ curiosities and anecdotes that will immerse you in the atmosphere of the Venetian Lagoon.
In addition to satisfying your palate at the Local Markets, you can also purchase gifts and souvenirs to bring back to your loved ones.
The Rialto Market
For those who want to explore local specialties even further, it’s worth including a visit to Venice’s famous Rialto Market, one of the city’s most authentic historic markets, where the colors, aromas, and typical products of the lagoon blend together.
Here the fish market is open from Tuesday to Saturday in the early hours of the morning (usually from 7:00/7:30 until around 12:00/14:00), while the adjacent fruit and vegetable market is open from Monday to Saturday, also in the morning.
Strolling among the stalls of the Rialto Market is a unique experience, allowing you to see how Venetians choose the freshest produce of the day and admire the local culinary tradition up close before heading out into the city’s narrow streets and canals.
